Our local activities
The ‘Open Up to Mouth Cancer’ campaign aimed to help people to be aware of the symptoms of mouth cancer and where they can get a check-up.
Our projects were based in three areas of the country. They aimed to raise awareness of mouth cancer causes and symptoms among high risk populations.
We offered people free mouth check-ups to find those with early signs of mouth cancer and refer them to a specialist. We also advised people on how to reduce their risk of mouth cancer.
You can find out more about our local activities on this site. The three areas we worked in are: the North East of England (Newcastle and Gateshead), the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the London Borough of Newham.
We want everyone at high risk of mouth cancer to have their mouths checked by a dentist. To read more information about how to do this, see visiting the dentist.
